MIL TRACK & FIELD – March 17, 2012

Some action from the Yamamoto Invitational track meet. Tonight, I went to the 4:00 baseball game first, then spend the rest of the night at the track meet trying to capture as many different events as possible. My friend from the Maui Medical Group, James Sparke, was one of the head officials for the MIL Track and he was able to get an okay for me to get onto the infield to shoot. I probably should've taken him up on the opportunity, but I'll wait till next time.

THE LATE SATOKI YAMAMOTO, a former biology teacher at Lahainaluna and pioneer
in promoting track and cross country during the mid-1950s, is the namesake for this event.
The Track at War Memorial is also named after him. Imua Lunas.

MIL Baseball: LAHAINALUNA 2, Maui High 3 – March 17, 2012

After being blown out the game before, the Lunas game back behind the steady pitching of Marcus Badua to give Maui High a run for its money. I had to leave early to shoot track, but they had the lead when I left. Unfortunately, due to horrific umpiring (AGAIN!), the Sabers were able to come back in late innings and eventually win the game, 3-2.

Some action from the Yamamoto Invitational track meet. Having never been able to shoot the athletes in the shotput and discus events, I made it a point to get to the meet early to give these athletes their due.

MIL Baseball: Lahainaluna v. Maui High – March 16, 2012

Bronsen Kaina
Another Friday night double-header for yours truly. I decided to catch the late innings of Lahainaluna’s 6:00pm baseball match up against Maui High after heading over to the stadium to shoot the track meet. Lunas were down 10-0 after 6, but scored 4 in the bottom of the 6th.
