MIL TENNIS TOURNAMENT – April 14, 2012


Girls Semifinals:  LAHAINALUNA 3 v. Kamehameha Schools Maui 2

















Lahainaluna girls, champions of the Western Division met with the Warriors of Kamehameha Maui, 2nd place in the Eastern division. Despite a contentious match between No. 3 singles Miyana Wagner and Batungbacal, the Lunas girls prevailed 3-2 to advance to the team finals.

No. 1 singles-Jaye Orikasa, Kamehameha Maui, def. Melissa Taketa 6-1, 6-2. No. 2 singles-Paige Pasion, Lahainaluna, def. Brandi Silva 6-0, 4-6, 6-0. No. 3 singles-Chalee Batungbacal, Kamehameha Maui, def. Miyana Wagner 3-6, 7-5, ret. No. 1 doubles-Chantelle Baclay and Nicole Aceret, Lahainaluna, def. Kelcey Lorenzo and Shanise Kaaikala 6-0, 6-3. No. 2 doubles-Ezra Baccar and Lakeisha Ching, Lahainaluna, def. Mehana Fisher and Abby Okazaki 6-4, 6-4.



Boys Semifinals:  LAHAINALUNA 1 v. Seabury Hall 4











Alec Wagner took care of business at No. 1 singles. Unfortunately, the rest of the team came up short in a rematch of team finalists from last year. Team season over for the boys.

Hayden Bogar 6-3, 6-4. No. 1 doubles-Tristan Loesberg and Willy Harris, Seabury Hall, def. Jordan Baclay and McNiel Magdaong 4-6, 6-2, 6-1. No. 2 doubles-Buzz Stoner and Nalu Ehman, Seabury Hall, def. Gaylord Garcia and Kamalino Juus-Schieber 6-0, 6-0.
