Samantha Feyen with the shot on goal |
The Lady Lunas won their 52nd straight MIL
match with a sloppy 19-13 win over Maui High.
Maui High was able to score 13 goals against the Lunas, who were able to
play almost their entire roster. Defense and team speed appear to be things
that the Lunas have to work on going into their big match tomorrow against
Baldwin. The Lunas were led by Bridget Joy with 6 goals and Courtney Galarita
with 4 goals, doing her best to imitate her mentor, Gina-Bella Mataafa.
The conspiracy theorist in me wonders: who the heck
scheduled Lahainaluna to play Baldwin in the second game of a back-to-back?
Certainly not a Lahainaluna administrator, I would think. Makes me wonder
whether the loss of Will Hutchison, who had the experience and influence in the
league as a winning and respected coach, has also hurt the Lunas in terms of
scheduling and officiating.
