Despite clinching the regular season championship and the
top seed in the MIL Tournament, the Lady Lunas did not let up on their next
opponent, King Kekaulike. Hope MOrikawa and Brenna Nakamura combined to no-hit
Na Alii again, en route to a 7-0 win and
a 10-0 record at Lahainaluna field.
Kekuu Haake had a double and three RBIs for the Lunas, Lithe
Pokipala-Waiohu doubled twice and scored a run and Haley Nakamura doubled and
scored three runs.

Addendum:
Because of scheduling conflicts,
this was my last regular season game for the softball team. The Lunas went on
to beat Maui High in their final at-bat 1-0 in their home finale. That game was
Senior Night, and the team and fans celebrated the lone senior this year,
Brenna Nakamura. I wish I could’ve been there to shoot photos. They then went
on to beat Kamehameha Schools Maui 11-2 to finish the season 12-0. The Lunas
outscored MIL competition 91-10 this year.
Next up is the MIL Tournament. It will be a busy week for me, as it will also be the MIL Tennis Tournament down at Wailea.
