Tonight reflected the beginning of a new era somewhat in Lahainaluna
student activities as this was the first Homecoming game in 25 years in which
the legendary Mr. Art Fillazar was not involved in as the school’s student
activity coordinator. Now retired from the State of Hawaii DOE, Mr. Fillazar
now holds a similar position at St. Anthony School, his alma mater.
Nevertheless, it was refreshing to hear Mr. Fillazar’s familiar voice MC-ing
the pregame festivities honoring the senior football players and trainers. It
is Homecoming, after all, right?
Tonight, the school honored over twenty senior athletes and their

For her first Homecoming, new SAC Jayme Carlos did a great job as did
her husband Myron with the Lahainaluna band. At halftime, the band performed several numbers and the
Homecoming Court was introduced:
