What a long day. After shooting the girls JV volleyball at Seabury for 2-3 hours, I headed back home for a short rest then back up the mountain for JV and varsity football at Kamehameha. I thought the game supposed to start at 4:00pm . . . I get there at 3:45pm to shoot warm-ups and they're already starting the game! Frick!
I didn't go across the field to the Lahainaluna side. Shot from the Kamehameha side. Big difference in terms of sideline vibes. But it's all good. Obviously I avoided the mid-field bench area since it wasn't Lahainaluna. Too bad the weather was kinda voggy . . . not the background I wanted when shooting . . . too much white.
Golden hour was nice. Went to the Lahainaluna side after halftime and got some nice shots with a nice glow. Switched from the Sigma 120-300mm to the Nikon 70-200mm and got admittedly sharper and more colorful images. The background and setting sun definitely helped.
Good to see Denton back from his east coast trip with his daughter's classmates.
As for the game, it was another dominating win for the Lunas. The man of the hour was again Sione Makoa Filikitonga. The defense was dominating but Kamehameha Maui scored when the back-up quarterback fumbled the ball and Kamehameha recovered it and returned it for a touchdown.
