After three years of shooting cross-country, I finally made it to a
meet at King Kekaulike. Normally I expect Upcountry Maui to be nice and cool,
especially in the early morning. But it was hot and humid like Lahaina. Choke
mosquitoes were biting me. I wish I had brought a hat. I’m glad I wasn’t
running this course.
