The Lady Lunas finally won a set in their previous match against Maui High (which I was not able to attend because of the County Fair). The girls continued their improved play against King Kekaulike, falling 3-1 20-25, 23-25, 25-22, 9-25. They did so despite missing three key starters: setter Jessica Wallace, Lithe Pokipala-Waiohu and Kawena Murray. Also missing was head coach Lei Nakamura, as assistant Melissa Kan Hai took over. Previously little used senior Kanoe Delatori came in and gave the team steady play at setter and Leslie Mina contributed some timely hits from the outside.
