LAHAINALUNA FOOTBALL v. KING KEKAULIKE W42-0 - September 28, 2012

Lahainaluna recorded its 5th straight shut out with a 42-0 win over King Kekaulike. The frontline of Hercules Mataafa, Sima Galoia, Sam Filiai, Connor Mowat and Joshua Coston was disrupting things in the backfield all night. The shutout looked to be in jeopardy just before halftime when King Kekaulike had a long run that was stopped by Jared Purdy and then the defense came in and stuffed King Kekaulike in the red zone. A blocked field goal attempt prevented King Kekaulike from getting on the board.

It was the Semisi Filikitonga show as he scored two touchdowns - the first on a 10 yard run and the second was an electric 85 yard run on the second play of the second half. In all, he had 133 yards rushing on TWO rushes. Back-up quarterback Kaimana Ancog came in and had 91 yards rushing on 4 rushes, including a 66 yard TD run in the fourth. Another great play came on a Filikitonga interception - on the run back, he tossed it back to Mark Alamon rugby-style as he was being tackled and Alamon ran in for the apparent touchdown. Unfortunately, a blocking penalty brought the play back.

My Two Cents

My pictures would've been awesomer if I had remembered to adjust the AF FINE TUNE function on my D7000. After switching out the 24-70, I failed to set it back to default with my 70-200. Thus, the majority of my pictures were hopelessly out of focus. Otherwise, I would've had some GREAT shots. Lesson learned.
