It was Senior Night and the five seniors: Faavae Galoia, Betty Koloi,
Mharicar Tan, Patricia Nebrida and Angel Cuaresma made sure the night went on
as long as possible. They won the first 2 of 3 sets against Maui High in front
of a loud raucous crowd, but dropped the final two sets and the match: 26-24, 16-25, 25-23, 18-25, 5-15.

MIL GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: LAHAINALUNA V. KAMEHAMEHA SCHOOLS MAUI - October 11, 2014
MIL GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: LAHAINALUNA V. BALDWIN L0-3 - OCTOBER 14, 2014
It was a brutal loss to Baldwin on our home court. Even with the
basketball girls cheering (although somewhat subdued – perhaps they were warned
to keep things down), the girls could not quite get in sync on offense or
defense. Perhaps it was the distraction of homecoming week and the senior game
coming up, but it was disappointing to see the girls come up short in this one:
16-25, 12-25, 22-25.
The end of the game Alma Mater had a surprise twist when members of the
Baldwin team joined in the big circle. It seemed like some of them were singing
along, which would be the ultimate compliment, wouldn’t it? That a school’s Alma Mater was so
well-known (and perhaps liked) that rival teams knew the words to them and
would want to sing along.
