LAHAINALUNA BASEBALL SENIOR NIGHT 2014: 04-18-2014

Senior Night for Lahainaluna Baseball - gonna miss the BIG THREE Jeffrey Kaimana Ancog, Bronson Kaina and Kaimana Casco-deleon who were four year varsity players (I believe). Also Kepa Hamlin, who stepped it up and became a big contributor towards the end of the season. MAHALO!

LAHAINALUNA SOFTBALL v. KING KEKAULIKE 04-16-2014

On a misty, drizzly but festive Lahainaluna night, the Lady Lunas defeated a scrappy King Kekaulike softball team 15-5 in their last home game of 2014. The highlight was a 3 run home run by senior Tracy Panlasigui in the bottom of the 6th that made the score 14-5.

LAHAINALUNA BOYS VOLLEYBALL V. BALDWIN 04-17-2014

Normally it would be Senior Night as it was Lahainaluna's final home game for boys' volleyball. Unfortunately, our lone senior Nate is apparently no longer on the team. That's too bad . . . Nate's a great kid! And this would've been Kiko Fonohema's night - he was a very good volleyball player with a 36-inch vertical and some epic hang time . . . he definitely made me look good as a photographer! But a wrist fracture last year and doing track this year instead of volleyball has denied us this opportunity to honor him one last time before he graduates. Anyways, the hard-working boys who are on this team came out and battled against Baldwin. After a lackluster first set, the Lunas won the second set and almost came all the way back to win the third set and were down 2 games to 1 when I had to leave the gym to drive back to Wailuku. Still have no clue what the final result was or what the scores were.

LAHAINALUNA SOFTBALL SENIOR NIGHT 2014 - April 16, 2014

Special night honoring Class of 2014 Senior Lady Lunas Softball players Lithe Pokipala-Waiohu, Tracey Panlasigui and Pomai Pagatpatan, as well as the Lunas' beloved trainer Mikala Pino.

MIL TENNIS QUALIFYING TOURNAMENT: DAY 1 - April 17, 2014

Day 1 of the MIL Qualifying Tournament. In Boys Doubles, Max Linder & Jarret Pascual defeated Kona Dancil/Damian Kuluhiwa (KSM) 6-0, 6-0 (I think); Keoni Miranda & Radon Sinenci lost to K. Dowling/C. Kawano (Mol) 3-6, 0-6; Blaine Casil & Ethan Kaleiopu def. A. Maroto/G. Sanchez-Aea (Mol) 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 but lost in the 2nd round to J. Pante/C. Patterson (Lan) 0-6, 2-6. In Boys Singles, Arden Domawa lost to Jonathan Ibanez (SAS) 1-6, 2-6. In Girls Singles, Joanna Aceret def. Ke'aa Davis (Mol) 6-0, 6-0; Shania Abut def. Anna Ezzy (Sea) 6-2, 6-2. In Girls Doubles, Nicole Aceret/Joanne Uzzanti def. Barr/Cummings-Carone (Bal) 6-1, 6-0 and Maile Amine/Charvie Duque def. Ballesteros/Gragas (KK) 6-1, 6-3.
