The Lunas’ JV squad continued to dominate with a 46-0 win over Maui High. They have outscored their opponents 81-0 in the past 2 games. The Lunas’ were led on offense by their two-headed quarterback combination of Sione Filikitonga and Kawika Kinimaka, along with their running backs Bubba Jaramillo, Christian Whitehead and fullback Nathan Hapakuka- Nunuha. The Lunas went into halftime up 32-0.
I had to take team photographs of the varsity after halftime, so I was not able to take pictures of the second half action of the JV game. The team picture was important because it was to be included in the HHSAA program for the football playoffs. Last year, the school missed the deadline and they did not have a picture in the program. In addition, with the big lead, the rest of the game was on a running clock so I missed a lot, including a sweet touchdown catch made by Zack Martin in the back corner of the endzone. Congrats to the team on another great win. Hope to go out on a winning note next week when they play
