My 2 Cents

Seems like King Kekaulike is the only team that will be playing a regular season game at Lahainaluna's beautiful home field. Thank you, King K!

Wish the other MIL teams would come and play on our beautiful field. It's only fair, right? I'm guessing it's an economic decision - more paying fans can be accommodated at War Memorial, which means more revenue for the MIL. Hopefully we can get the remaining phases of Lahainaluna field done (i.e., install additional seating, infrastructure, lights?, parking, restrooms) so that we can someday have all of our home games played at our field.

So what does that mean for us? That means we need to come out to support the team and the stadium on Saturday, August 20 at 10:00am for the annual Fire Up the Imu! fundraising event. Buy a brick! Give a donation. C'mon, you can do it!

On another note, it looks like Kamehameha Maui's home game against us will be played at War Memorial instead of up at their school. While I don't mind saving the money on the gas, I was looking forward to catching the game up their at their beautiful stadium. What a view! But I still think the view from Lahainaluna's field is better. But I'm biased, of course.

I also understand that renovations have been done to War Memorial. It better be good. Man, the field looked like crap last year and the lighting conditions were horrible! It was tough getting nice, sharp shots there on that field. We shall see, since almost all of Lahainaluna's games will be played there.

Game time is just over 24 hours from now. See you there!
